Canada will be hosting the NACAC mountain running championships this year as part of the Beaver Flat 50 event. For the first time, the championships will also host a 50km trail running option. In partnership with Athletics Canada (AC), the teams for the 50km events were selected. Those representing Team Canada are Seth Marcaccio, Chris Balestrini, Simon Widmann and Mitchell Valic for the men's team and Shannon Penway, Catrin Jones, Ashley O'Hara and Gina Tranquada for the women's team.
