Shoes must be publicly available (on the open market) at the time of competition. Bespoke or 'development' shoes cannot be wore in competition. [Note: Athletes attempting to qualify for national teams are also expected to adhere to this rule, which supports fairness and the primacy of human endeavour over shoe technology.] Link to ACU Shoe Policy.

The ACU is self-funded and athletes will have to cover the majority of the travel costs to the event. Any funding that becomes available will be announced as it materialises. Travel grant money received to the ACU on behalf of athletes is pooled and divided equally amongst athletes, regardless of the category of the qualifying performance.
