CANADIAN 24 HOUR NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION
The 2025 IAU 24 Hour World Championships is scheduled for 18-19 October 2025 in Albi, France The General Information Sheet (GIS) will be uploaded here when available in 2025. |
*Last accepted qualifier for National Team Selection 2025 will be 8 June 2025*
Selection Information
Selection takes place approximately 3 months prior to the World Championship (WC).
To be considered for the National Team you must be a Canadian citizen and have a valid passport for international travel (expiring at least 6 months after the WC).
Applications for 2025 are expected to open mid May 2025 (via online form available here later) and will close on 8 June 2025. The team announcement will be made approximately 1 week later. Athletes are expected to have completed the free "True Sport Clean (Untracked)" anti-doping course on the CCES (Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport) website at the time of their application and to submit their certificate of completion with their application.
National Team Selection will be based on performances registered in the 24 months prior to the date of the World Championships. There is no guaranteed auto-qualifying event or distance. Athletes are expected to demonstrate proof of current fitness if their qualifying performance(s) are less current. For example, if a male athlete ran 220km in December 2023, but no 24hr race subsequent, he must be able to demonstrate that he has sufficient current endurance fitness at the time of the 2025 application. An athlete without a 24hr qualifier might still be selected, if they can demonstrate sufficient potential and fitness at the time of application (e.g., a 100 mile world class time could be taken under consideration).
It is the responsibility of the athlete to apply to the ACU using the application form linked to this webpage when applications are open. It is essential that the athlete checks that their performance(s), wherever they may have been run, are posted on the DUV ranking list.
A team of up to 6 men and 6 women will be selected. The team size is at the discretion of the ACU.
