The 2027 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships is scheduled for 6-10 October 2027 in Cape Town, South Africa. This will be the 4th edition of the combined Mountain & Trail Running Championships. |

Selection Information
To be considered for the National Trail you must be Canadian citizen with a valid passport extending at least 6 months beyond the dates of the championships.
Selection will take place the second week of January 2026.
Selected team members for the short trail (approx 45km - TBC) and long trail (approx 80km - TBC) events must be current members of the Association of Canadian Ultramarathoners (ACU) and must also be an athlete member of an AC branch at the time of qualification and throughout the championships.
The team is primarily self-funded. Further details on qualifications, etc, will be provided in the 2027 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships Selection Criteria document when available (click here for French; click here for English when available)
The General Information Sheet (GIS), provided by the Local Organising Committee, will be posted here when available.
Team members are expected to arrive 4 October and depart 11 October (dates TBC) in order to attend the opening and closing ceremonies and contribute to the team spirit of mutual support throughout the four days of events.
