Selection Information

To be considered for the National Team you must be a Canadian citizen and have a valid passport for international travel.

Selection for national teams takes place approximately 3 months prior to the World Championship.

Expressions of interest for the 2024 Championships are welcome by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. anytime after 1 March 2024. Due to the late notice for this championship from the IAU and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the lack of information regarding the event, accommodations, travel grants, and other technical details as of April 2024, ACU has not yet committed to sending teams.

Should a team be sent, athletes are expected to have completed the free "True Sport Clean (Untracked)" anti-doping course on the CCES (Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport) website at the time of their application and to submit their certificate of completion with their application.

National Team Selection will be based on the performances registered in the previous 24 months prior to the date of the Continental (Americas) Championships.

It is the responsibility of the athlete to apply to the ACU using the application form linked to this webpage when applications are open. It is essential that the athlete checks that their performance(s), wherever they may have been run, are posted on the DUV ranking list.

A team of up to 4 men and 4 women will be selected. The team size is at the discretion of the ACU.
