Outdoor Channel's New Expedition Competition Series - The Brigade
The Brigade is looking for athletes that might be interested in being part of a team of 10 that will be covering the 2600 miles fur trade route between July 1st and September 30th. (10 weeks)
Anyone interested, let me know soonest as the application closes May 15th and interviews begin May 1st. (a substantial $$ compensation is given to every members of the team)
We are combing the continent (Canada and USA) in search of brave men and women to join the ultimate adventure!! Our application site is now open and we're hoping that either yourself or anyone you may know within the Association of Canadian Ultra Runners Community might be interested in applying?
A little about the show:
The Brigade will retrace an epic 2600-mile fur trade route. This historic route links
waterways from the coast of Oregon to the icy shores of Hudson Bay – all self-navigated – all self-propelled.
This is an expedition that can’t be tackled alone. THE BRIGADE must work together to survive, battling fierce whitewater, portaging over mountains, hunting and fishing for sustenance. Every team member is crucial to success.
There are no eliminations. This cooperative competition relies on collective strength to hang on against the odds. Those who complete the expedition in the time allotted will share the prize money.
We need adventurers:
With expedition experience
Strong paddling skills
Multi-skilled in outdoor abilities
Possess willpower, strength and determination
Ready to take on an epic cross-continent expedition that has not been attempted in 150
years

ACU National Record Statistician position opening

The Association Canadian Ultramarathoners is currently looking for a new statistician to accept and ratify applications for Canadian Ultra Records.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Karon Huising, who has been in that position from 2012 and 2018, ratifying 111 new records during that period.
Her dedicated work is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU !!

National Championships Series 2018

Dear Race Directors,
the Association of Canadian Ultramarathon (ACU) National Championships Series is now completed for 2017 and we are focusing on the 2018 Series.
The Series has been in place since 2004 and 2017 was another great success.
In the next few weeks we will be accepting applications for hosting the National Championships in the 50K, 100K, 50M, 100M, 6 Hrs, 12 Hrs, 24 Hrs and 48 Hrs Trail and Road events.
We will also be looking for applications to take part in the Series for the same events.
The Invitation proposal document and the Participation Agreement document are available on the ACU web site under National Championships/ RD Dashboard.
Please review and if interested, fill in the participation agreement, sign and return to us.
We have already received many requests for the calendar schedule from athletes across Canada, trying to plan their 2018 races schedule.
Please reply before Dec 30 as our objective is to have the calendar updated for Jan 1st 2018.
Lets make 2018 another successfull Series !!
Rankings update 2017

The end of the season is getting close and we just up-loaded the latest rankings with performances up to November 22nd.
Our athletes from all across the country have been pretty busy so far in 2017, posting almost 8000 finishes (7644 to be precise) in events nationaly and around the world.
We try to capture and record every results but sometimes some are missed therefore, take a few moments to verify the Rankings List and let us know if any errors or omissions.
Congratulations to all and all the best for the rest of the season !!
Foshan Mountain Invitational 24 Hrs, China

The Foshan Mountain 24 Hrs Invitational is scheduled for next Saturday Nov 4th in China.
Steven Parke and April Boultbee will be competing and representing Canada.
